I like Peas!!

Alaina tried peas for the first time today. She made a mess and made faces the whole time but she ate a lot of it and seemed to at least kind of enjoy it. We had fun and I managed to get some pictures while feeding her.

Alaina's First Steps

Alaina took her first steps tonight and we were able to capture it with our digital camera. Hope everyone enjoys it. You may need to download quicktime to view it.

Edited to say: We checked this out and you don't need quicktime to view this video. My parents have a dial-up connection and it took about 3-4 minutes to download. She is going to be walking before we know it on her own!! She tries really really hard to crawl. Last night she was trying again and she wound up moving backwards when she wanted to move forwards. She couldn't figure out why she was moving the wrong way. It was so cute!

Pigtail pictures

So here are pics of the pigtails Alaina had today at Haley's prompting. Now you better check this today Haley! Love you all! Wendy

Anniversary, Ponytail, and Rain!!!

Haley, these first two are for you. I picked up some of the rubber bands that you told me to and here are a couple of pictures of Alaina with her very first ponytail.

Dave took me out last night for dinner. When we left to drop off DJ, Dave suprised me by having set up DJ's parents to babysit for Alaina. This is the first time we have gone out to dinner alone since she was born. After dinner we went back to Ned and Jodi's house (DJ's parents) and played the 90's trivia pursuit. I did horrible, but Dave was my partner and he knew a lot. We had a lot of fun!

IT RAINED TODAY!!!! So happy about that! I miss having rain so much! We had a rainstorm on July 4th and at our house we have had no rain since then. It is drizzly outside today with a high of 92!!! So awesome! Hope you are all having a wonderful day!

Happy Golden Birthday Daddy!

Happy Birthday Daddy! We love you! We had a wonderful relaxing day. I really think that Dave had a wonderful birthday. Other than the birthday cake fiasco. If you ask me, I'll tell you all about it, but it's too long to type right now when Alaina needs a bath and to go to bed. Love all of you guys!

Dads 1st-round draft pick!

Here are some pictures from tonight. Mom, here is a picture of her new blue and white outfit. Love you all!

Alaina's new dress

I just got this dress for Alaina today. It is a bit too big, but I'm a sucker for blue dresses (and clothes on clearance). I figure it should fit her next summer as well, so it is worth while.

Upsidedown with teeth

Ok, so here are two new pictures. Dave just took a picture of Alaina's 2 bottom teeth. They are really growing a lot and they are QUITE sharp! Trust me.... The other picture is of Dave holding Alaina upside down. When he holds her like that she giggles nonstop. They love eachother so much!

Alaina and Daddy

Alaina was having fun tonight sitting on Daddy's lap while we watched Wheel of Fortune and Big brother. They were so cute together! Alaina has really started to love hanging out with Daddy when he gets home from work. She literally throws herself in his direction. (sometimes landing face down on the couch where she is lunging)

Alaina, Dave, and the Teddy Bear

Here are some really cute pictures of Dave and Alaina, Alaina by herself, and Alaina (SITTING BY HERSELF!!) looking herself looking at her teddy bear. Thought they were pretty cute. Haley--what do you think of the black and white pictures. I could zoom in on the one with her smiling?? Dave taught me how to set the camera to take black and white pictures.

Alaina and her feet...

Here are a few pictures of Alaina loving her feet. There is also a picture in there from when we took Alaina outside and set her on a blanket. She rolled off of the blanket, but pulled the blanket with her overtop of her. She wasn't that fond of having a blanket ontop of her, but it was so cute! I love her face in that picture! It was almost like her saying, Mom, I screwed up, and you are taking pictures??!!

Us at Laura's house

Here are a few pictures from our trip to visit Dave's sister Laura and her boyfriend Josh. The first picture is of Laura and Alaina playing with a music box that my Grandma got me when I was Alaina's age. Next is a picture of Alaina and Nash, their new puppy. Nash and Alaina didn't get along that well early on (Nash was a little too energetic for Alaina's liking), but by the time we left, they were great friends. Nash always wanted to be right on top of Alaina, and Alaina loved watching Nash run around. The third picture is Dave and Laura at the Mexican restaurant we went to on the riverwalk. It was pretty warm out that day, but we had a lot of fun walking around. It was really beautiful! The last picture is of Laura, Josh, and Alaina right before we left. Alaina really loved Josh. If she was in the same room as him, she would just stare at him and wait for him to pick her up. We had a lot of fun. Alaina wasn't thrilled with the 3 hour car ride, but we all had a ton of fun while we were there!

Alaina and DJ

Here are a couple of pictures of Alaina with the little boy that Alaina and I babysit for, DJ. He plays with Alaina throughout the day and they really have fun together. They are so cute playing together! Soon DJ will be going to preschool though, so it will just be Alaina and I for most of the day again. We will miss having DJ here, but it will mean more Mommy/Baby time. Love you all!

opps..3 more

So I just meant to send 1 picture, but then I kept on seeing more cute pictures that I wanted to send....

One more picture

Dave just told me that I have to add a picture of myself with Alaina, so here it is :)

Recent Alaina Pictures

This is our first post and we welcome comments about ways that this blog can be made better. I'm sure that Dave would do a much better job at this than I am presently doing, but this is a new project so I'm going to run with it.
