Vikings lost but...

It still made a pretty good photo shoot for Alaina and Dave.

On an even better note the Packers won! It made me happy. Alaina and Daddy did have fun watching football together. Even though she grew out of her Packers shirt and still fits into her Vikings shirt, I am not giving up hope that she will be a Packers fan!

Just some cute pictures

Here are just a couple of cute pictures of Alaina from this week that I wanted to post. We are going to be going to South Carolina in a week and a half so we will have some really cute pictures of Alaina from down there. We are so excited!!!

My Independent Baby

Alaina has gotten so much more independent over the last week or so. She won't eat her food unless she is holding the spoon, she won't take a bottle unless she is holding it up, and she won't even stand up if Dave or I set her on her feet. She has to pull herself up while holding onto our fingers. If we lift her to a standing position she just plops back down on her butt and wants to pull herself up. If things keep going the way they are she is going to be quite the handful as a teenager! Anyway, tonight she wasn't taking any food that I was trying to feed her and wouldn't let me help lead the spoon to her mouth while she was holding it, so I let her go at it on her own. Needless to say, after she was finished, she went right up to the bathtub! Dave got some great pictures of her eating. She looks way too innocent for the mess she has made!

A long walk...

Alaina and I went out for an hour long walk today. We had so much fun!! She slept for the last 15 minutes of it. It felt really good to get out for such a long walk. It has been a while since I have had a chance to do that.

Tuesday with Laura

Laura and Josh came back to our house on Tuesday. Josh's truck broke down this weekend, so they took a rental car back and came on Tuesday to pick up the truck. It was too bad that their truck broke down, but it was so much fun to hang out with them for the day. They came at about 1pm and left at 6. Laura spent quite a bit of that time holding Alaina (which gave me time to cook dinner without entertaining Alaina). They are so cute together. Soon before they left, Alaina fell asleep on me and Laura took a picture of it. So much fun. They need to move closer to us!!!

I love mommy

We made this video tape tonight. Make sure you turn on sound when you watch it and listen closely for what Alaina says.

When you watch the video you will see that Alaina's mouth doesnt move at the same time she is talking. I had to convert the original video and couldnt get it to synch up right.

New Crib

Dave set up Alaina's crib last night! She really seems to love it. In the picture of her standing up, we do have the side down, so she isn't actually able to crawl or fall out seeing as we always put the side up when she is in it unless I am taking pictures of it. Well, all is still going well here. Hope everyone else is doing well! Miss you!

Packers lost :(

Laura and Josh came to our house again this weekend. We had a lot of fun. They came later on Friday night. Saturday we hung out and played cards. (Mostly poker) I won the first game and Dave won the second. Maybe we should have let them win...prolly not...sorry Laura... We went out for dinner Saturday night and watched football on Sunday. Packers lost today. I'm bummed. Dave doesn't care so much. He is excited that the Vikings won....I can't believe I married a Vikings fan. I guess since it is too late for an annulment and a divorce is out of the question, I'll have to live with it for 4 months out of the year. Too bad God didn't put a football clause into his laws on marriage. We put up Alaina's crib today. I'll post pictures of it tonight or tomorrow. Well, time to feed Alaina. Bye for now!

Rasberries

So, a while ago I was rather confused by the way they portray Moms on TV. They always look dishevled and always are covered in food and other random stains. I understand now. Alaina has now taken to blowing rasberries in all of the food that I try to feed her. Not only is she covered from head to toe (literally) in food, but so am I. I think we need to both take baths after each feeding. Luckly that is still only once a day still. Anyway, in these pictures from when she at 10 minutes ago I tried a few different foods to see if she would react better to some than others. Well, she seemed to like blowing rasberries in them all equally. So now we are both covered in cereal, apple juice, squash, and avacadoes. So much fun!

On a different note, I sent out a forward to some of you, but it is just too good, so I am posting it again here. Hope you all enjoy. This is for all of you Moms to appreciate, to everyone who doesn't have kids to warn, and to all of you Dads to be greatful that God hasn't blessed you like this.

A man was sick and tired of going to work every day while his wife stayed home. He wanted her to see what he went through so he
prayed:

"Dear Lord: I go to work every day and put in 8 hours while my wife merely stays at home. I want her to know what I go through, so please allow her body to switch with mine for a day. Amen."

God, in his infinite wisdom, granted the man's wish. The next morning, sure enough, the man awoke as a woman.

He arose, cooked breakfast for his mate, awakened the kids, set out their school clothes, fed them breakfast, packed their lunches, drove them to school, came home and picked up the dry cleaning, took it to the cleaners and stopped at the bank to make a deposit, went grocery shopping, then drove home to put away the groceries, paid the bills and balanced the check book.

He cleaned the cat's litter box and bathed the dog. Then it was already 1P.M. and he hurried to make the beds, do the laundry, vacuum, dust, and sweep and Mop the kitchen floor.

He ran to the school to pick up the kids and got into an argument with them on the way home. Set out milk and cookies and got the kids organized to do their homework, then set up the ironing board and watched TV while he did the ironing. At 4:30 he began peeling potatoes and washing vegetables for salad, breaded the pork chops and snapped fresh beans for supper.

After supper, he cleaned the kitchen, ran the dishwasher, folded laundry, bathed the kids, and put them to bed. At 9 P.M. he was exhausted and, though his daily chores weren't finished, he went to bed where he was expected to make love, which he managed to get through without complaint.

The next morning, he awoke and immediately knelt by the bed and said:

"Lord, I don't know what I was thinking. I was so wrong to envy my wife's being able to stay home all day. Please, oh! oh! please, let us trade back." The Lord, in his infinite wisdom, replied: "My son, I feel You have learned your lesson and I will be happy to change things back to the way they were. You'll just have to wait nine months, though. You got pregnant last night."

Love,
Dave, Wendy, & Alaina

I'm too sexy....

So cute and smiley! The "I'm to sexy for my diaper" shirt is still a 0-3 month shirt. I tried it on her today and I am so excited it still fits her! I love that shirt! We sold our truck on Tuesday so we will soon be in the market to buy a new car. We figure we will get one sometime in the next couple of months. Both Dave and I really like the Toyota RAV4, so it looks like that is probably what we will be getting. How exciting! But it was a little sad to sell the first vehicle that I ever bought. Oh well, getting a new one will help the transition exponentially. Miss you all!

~6 Months Old~

Hardly seems like 6 months ago today Alaina was born. Time goes so fast. She ate baby food carrots today and yesterday. She seeed to really like them but both Dave and I tried them and they were terrible. Oh well, she really seems to like them. She finished her bowl of food two days in a row now. She is now eating baby food/cereal at least once a day. We miss you guys! Hope everyone is doing well.

Our "charming" baby

Our charming baby....So I leave her for all of 2 minutes alone in the living room and come back to find out she got into her diper rash cream. She got into her diaper bag, took out the cream, opened it, and proceeded to squirt it everywhere. I now have white marks all over my floor...so much fun. Even though she had me at my wits end about all of this, I still had to stop and take a picture because even when she is being naughty, she is still too darn cute.

Talk, Talk, Talk

Alaina is starting to talk constantly (no, Haley, not really talking--babbling--she isn't that old yet) In one of the pictures she is talking to the TV and another one, she is talking to me. The last one I just thought was cute. She is trying really really hard to crawl. Right now she is on her tummy trying to crawl but she is having a hard time because she is holding a toy in one of her hands. She will probably pull it all together quickly. She is scooting herself really well. Well, we are having meatloaf for supper and I need to get it ready before I head to the store, so I guess I should get on that. We miss you all and can't wait to see everyone!

Red Elmo sweatshirt

Here are a couple of pictures of Alaina playing on the floor this afternoon in her super-cute Elmo sweatshirt. She has been doing so well at sitting up by herself and playing. She will now sit up by herself for quite a while without help. She can reach down to get a toy and then get herself back sitting up to play with her toy. Miss you all!

Last weekends pictures

Here are a couple of pictures from last week. Dave and I found Alaina in the living room trying to get her pj's off. It was so cute we had to get a picture before fixing her pj's. The second is of Alaina laughing while Dave "attacked" her with kisses. Last is of Dave talking to Alaina on the phone while he was gone this weekend.
