Update on Evelynn and Pictures of Alaina

I just heard from Carolynn about Evelynn, so I am cutting and pasting on her e-mail.

Hi Everyone,

Thank you all for your prayers, Evelynn's upper GI & Intestinal Scan went as great as could be this morning. Praise God, no trouble found there. Her internal plumbing is in perfect working order! Nice to start a hard day off with good news.

Then we went to her new allergist, Dr. Jain. He has a few theories, so you guessed it... More Questions.

He too is concerned about her thyroid, so we're setting up an appointment with a pediatric endocrinologist. He also wants an appointment with a pediatric gastrointestinal specialist. He said that just because her plumbing is connected correctly, there could be damage inside it.
We are still waiting on the Celiac test.

Dr. Jain also thinks our last allergist didn't know what he was talking about when he concluded Evelynn was not allergic to cow's milk. It turns out that all of Evelynn's weight issues started when we were given the go ahead to reintroduce cow's milk to my diet and to hers. Aha!
He didn't do the skin tests on her today, because he said he'd be duplicating the last allergist's results; those tests are for severe allergies, the kind that would result in Anaphylactic shock. He said she could still be allergic on some level, but not to that extent. But, he took her off of her allergy medication... so....?

But okay, we're at a new starting place. While still very scary (she got labeled Failure to Thrive this week), today's questions are Manageable. It's not Cancer, it's not going to require Surgery. God is Good, All the Time.

Please continue to pray God will show us and her doctors, the big Answer. Please also continue to pray for her health and high spirits.

Love, Carolynn

On a lighter note, Alaina had a lot of fun playing with Grandma's reading glasses. Here are some of those pictures:
